Meet Our Team

Experience…
In 2007 he acquired his CrossFit L1 cert, started a CF gym and shortly thereafter acquired his CrossFit L2, Olympic Lifting(x2), Endurance (x2) and Kid’s certifications.  He then pursued a L1 OPEX cert completing Assessment and Program Design, Business Systems, Lifestyle and Nutrition courses.
He has also been coached by Gold Medal Winning Gymnastics and Olympic Lifting athletes David Durante and Chad Vaughn respectively.
 
I CrossFit because...
I want to continue to improve the quality of my life and those around me.  I love the Community component and really missed the competitive nature of sports.
 
I Coach because...
I love to help people reach their potential in the safest, most efficient way possible.  Watching people acquire new skills and improve their lifts and workout efforts is like winning the lottery for me over and over again.
 
My favorite “cheat” meal is...
Cinnamon Buns!
 
My secret ninja exercise is…

Nick DiMatteo
Owner/Coach
Background…
Nick grew up in Malaga, NJ and went to Delsea Regional HS.  He then attended Rutgers Camden where he played 4 years of Men’s Soccer and earned a B.A. in Mathematics.
 
Nick was an early adopter to athletics and pursued soccer, baseball, skiing, racquetball, and tennis throughout high school and college.
He fell in love with fitness and training his first year of college.
 
Nick taught HS Mathematics for 11 years at Buena Regional HS and coached both the boy’s soccer (3 yrs) and tennis (7yrs) teams and played semi-professional soccer for 2 years.  He then coached the Camden County Men’s Soccer Team for 5 yrs while running speed, strength and conditioning camps.
 
During his last few years of teaching, Nick earned his Masters in Holistic Wellness and found CrossFit shortly thereafter.
 
Experience…
She has earned her CF-L1, CF Gymnastics, CF Kids, CF Endurance, CF Olympic Lifting, ACE and OPEX Assessment and Program Design
Prior Certs: RKC.  She has been a CrossFitter since August, 2009
 
I CrossFit because...
it challenges me and makes me feel strong in both mind and body.
 
I Coach because...
I love to support people in their health and fitness goals. I live for their "ah-ha" moments!
 
My favorite “cheat” meal is...
Pizza or cheese fries...feel so sick after! Lol!
 
My secret ninja exercise is...
Not a secret. I love burpees and pistols!
 
My secret sucky exercise is...Not a secret either...the elusive Muscle Up...Still trying to connect the dots!
 
My OTG X-Factor is...
Energy and enthusiasm! I am so happy and blessed to be able to do what I do! I love coming to the box, coaching our athletes, making them smile and seeing them accomplish great things!
 
Michelle Barbera

Background...
Michelle attended college @ Atlantic Cape Community College and is currently pursuing a second college degree in Wellness and Nutrition from Arizona State.
Experience…
She holds CrossFit L1 and CrossFit Movement Prep certs.
 
I CrossFit because...
Crossfit is what I grew up doing, I never went to a gym before Crossfit OTG and even after six years I am still challenged and see improvements. I also love being in a class setting and getting to know everyone.
 
I Coach because...
I love seeing our community improve, grow, and push people to do things they never thought they could.
 
My favorite “cheat” meal is...
First I go to The Continental and get lobster mac and cheese then have my mom make her moist chocolate cake with cream cheese icing and have a huge slice of that. And I end up having a piece at every meal everyday until it is finished.
 
My secret ninja exercise is…
Box Jumps, any height or rep scheme I love them.
 
My secret sucky exercise is…
Anything that has the word squat in it.

Pushing people to test their mental and physical boundaries.
Heather Mazzeo

Background…
Heather is 21 years old from Upper Township NJ. She graduated from Ocean City High School and just graduated from The Richard Stockton University of New Jersey.
She played tennis and lacrosse in high school and has been crossfitting for six years.
 
Experience…
Victoria has her Crossfit L1 Cert. and has been coaching for a little more than 1.5 years
 
I CrossFit because...
It challenges me to do things I never knew I could do and it allows me to have the competitive nature of sports that I miss.
 
I Coach because...
I enjoy helping people improve. I love when people attain a goal and you can see the enjoyment on their faces!

Victoria Allen

Background...
I attended The College of New Jersey where I attained a B.A. in mathematics. I currently use that degree to teach high school mathematics at Atlantic County Institute of Technology. I have recently attained a Masters in Mathematics at Rowan University. I have currently been crossfitting for about 3 years and love it!
Experience…
She received her Crossfit L1 Certification in 2015. She began coaching at Monmouth Crossfit before joining Crossfit OTG in November 2016. Crossfitting since 2007.
 
I CrossFit because...
There is nothing like Crossfit. The community, the competition, the constant variability, all keep me coming back for more.  It challenges me mentally and physically, making me a stronger person both in and out of the gym.
 
I Coach because... 
I love helping people to achieve their goals through fitness.  It is incredibly rewarding to watch each athlete improve and accomplish skills they never thought they could.
 
My favorite “cheat” meal is...
I have a slight food obsession so it’s not easy to pick just one.  My favorite cheat meal usually consists of dinner followed by dessert.  For dinner, nachos,Texas style!  Each chip evenly layered with refried beans, tons of cheese and chicken, jalapenos, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream.  Heaven!  Followed by an ice cream sandwich from Pokey O’s in Dallas, TX.  Since I don’t live in Texas, I have created my own version. This is usually a weekly occurrence.
 
My secret ninja exercise is…
Running…I can run forever.  And walls balls. I could do wall balls all day.
 
My secret sucky exercise is…
Burpees.  Enough said.
 
My OTG X-Factor is…
My positive attitude and enthusiasm during each class.  I look to find something positive to say to each athlete, while providing constructive criticism to improve their technique or overall performance.  I provide a high level of energy during the workouts to push them to that next level!
Leigh Scisco

Background…
Leigh grew up in Monmouth Beach, NJ.  She graduated from Shore Regional High School in 2005.  She attended Brookdale Community College and received her A.S. in biology in 2008.  She then attended Stockton University and received her B.S. Biology in 2010 and her DPT in 2012.  She is currently a Physical Therapist working at Novacare in Marmara, NJ.  Leigh discovered her passion for physical fitness and competition at an early age participating in a wide range of sports including gymnastics, swimming, tennis, softball, and basketball.  She has also competed as a figure competitor, obtaining 3 first place awards at a NGA competition in 2014. She was first introduced to Crossfit in 2007 and was instantly hooked!
 
Experience…
Rob played ice hockey in high school and recreational roller hockey for a few years during and after college.  Rob has been a member at Crossfit OTG since May of 2010 and has just recently thrown his coaching hat in the ring having attended the CrossFit L1 certification course in March 2017.  He’s looking forward to attending CrossFit specialty courses in the future.
 
I CrossFit because...
I was getting nowhere with the “globo-gym” type of working out.  During college, I put on way more than the “freshman fifteen”, so afterwards I needed to get in shape.  I began running almost daily 5k’s and eating better, and i was able to lose weight but i didn’t feel strong.  I joined a globo-gym and for years practiced the age-old philosophy of “back and bi’s, chest and tri’s” with no results.  A good friend joined OTG in August 2009 and was hooked instantly, and recruited my wife and I in May 2010.  Since then I’ve increased my overall fitness, work capacity, endurance, and skills.  Now, I can’t imagine starting a day without a 5 a.m. WOD, and I honestly can’t remember the last time I woke up and thought about skipping the gym...it’s my favorite part of the day!
 
I Coach because...
On multiple occasions in class I have been asked about how to perform lifts, gymnastics skills, or general WOD questions, and have always been glad to help.  And it’s amazingly gratifying when the words you use or the cues you give help someone achieve something they were unable to do before!  Plus, the coach gets to pick the tunes for the WOD...and who doesn’t love 80’s hair bands during a WOD?
 
My favorite “cheat” meal is...
German food!  Since good wursts, schnitzels, or spaetzle are hard to come by outside of Deutschland, I’ll always overdo it.  And there’s nothing better than a currywurst and “ein Maß” on a beautiful day in a biergarten...Gemütlichkeit!
 
My secret ninja exercise is...
Strict ring muscle ups!  Only discovered recently that I can do them, and now I’m challenging myself with various weighting methods, currently up to 20lb med ball between my feet.

My secret sucky exercise is...
The snatch...which is my favorite movement...for a single rep!  But put snatches in a WOD with a moderately high rep scheme, and I’m struggling!
 
My OTG X-Factor is...
Understanding.  Because if you’re struggling through a WOD, wondering if there’s any way you can possibly finish, I’ve been there!  Since I started CrossFit I’ve had many, many awful WODs (and many more to come!) where I didn’t think I would make it through.  But I’m there with you and can help you make it out alive!
 
Robert Ochs
Coach
Background...
Rob is originally from Brick, NJ, having graduated from Brick Township High School in 1998.  He attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick from 1998-2002, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, then from 2002-2005 for a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering and ultimately a Doctorate in 2013 with a specialization in thermal processes.  Rob has been an engineer with the Fire Safety Branch of the Federal Aviation Administration since 2001 as an intern then full time since 2005, performing aircraft fire safety research to help develop requirements for cabin materials flammability and aircraft systems fire protection to increase passenger survivability in fire-related accidents and incidents on transport airplanes.  

When he’s not intentionally setting airplanes on fire, Rob enjoys time spent with his wife Betsey living by the beach with their dog Heidi and cat Hank, taking motorcycle rides on the Hog, paddleboarding, traveling, brewing beer, gardening, and of course CrossFit.
Experience…
Nick has his CrossFit L1 Certification and is looking forward to attending more specialty certifications to enhance his coaching and training.
 
I CrossFit because...
After I stopped playing sports I knew there was something missing. Not to mention I gained a ton of weight. When I did my first CrossFit workout I knew I was hooked. I loved the competitive nature every day and I loved being a part of something again. The “CrossFit community” is something special.
 
I Coach because...
When I started CrossFit, I weighed 250lbs. Now I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I truly believe in this ideology. I know I can help people change the way I did, and I love seeing those little improvements day in and day out
 
My favorite “cheat” meal is...
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream…there is nothing else…also does it count if you work it into your daily meals? 

My secret ninja exercise is...
Just give me a barbell and I’ll be okay.

My secret sucky exercise is...
Hand Stand Walking is the bane of my existence.

Nick Droboniku

Background...
Nick is 19 years old from Northfield NJ. He graduated from Mainland Regional High School in 2015 and is currently a Junior at Stockton University.
He played football and baseball in high school as well as one year of baseball at Gettysburg College.
He has been crossfitting for almost 2 years.

Experience…
Olivia has her CrossFit-L1 certification, and also holds an ACSM personal training certification.
 
I CrossFit because...
It’s empowering and addicting. I love learning and perfecting all the different lifts and movements, and challenging myself on a daily basis. And the community at OTG is amazing!
 
I Coach because...
I want to help others reach their goals – whether it’s a PR, losing weight, or mastering a new movement.
 
My favorite “cheat” meal is...
Copious amounts of sushi!

Olivia DiGiorgio

Background...
Olivia grew up in Franklinville, NJ. After spending some time in Philly and Portland, OR, she found her way back to NJ in 2012 just before her daughter was born. She has her B.A. in Mathematics and M.S. in Actuarial Science, and currently puts those degrees to work as a data analyst in population health.
