A natural athlete, J Pac is always brining more fun to every workout. If he’s not out surfing or snowboarding, J is the guy you want to be throwing down next to. J’s got all the skills and he’s a great example of how hard work pays off. We wish J many more years of fitness and we are lucky we get to coach him everyday!

Q: How does it feel to be the May OTG Member of the Month?
A: There are so many great people/athletes at OTG. It is an honor and a great privilege to be selected as member of the month.
Q: How old are you?
A: I am 51 years young
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I work for Novartis, Director of Marketing/Patient Access
Q: What was your athletic background before CrossFit?
A: Throughout my life I have always been physically active. Lately, I have been focusing on surfing and snowboarding.
Q: How has training this way changed your life?
A: Crossfit is a great total body workout. It has complimented, strengthened and improved my performance in my other activities (surfing and snowboarding)
Q: How long have you been CrossFitting?
A: 8+ years
Q: What's your favorite cheat meal?
A: Is rum and or whiskey on the food pyramid?
Q: What are your favorite movements/workouts?
A: Snatch, HSPU and ring muscle ups
Q: What are your least favorite movements/workouts?
A: I'm not the tallest/biggest guy in the box so wall balls and erg bike can be problematic
Q: If you could make up your own workout that fits your strengths, what would it be and what would you call it? (AMRAP? RDS for time? Movements?)
A: Pac Attack - 5 rounds (400 meter run, 5 ring muscle ups, 10 power snatch @95#, 15 T2B)
Q: What was one goal when you first started at OTG? Have you progressed toward that goal?
A: My major goal was to be psychically fit all year round and to keep my weight in check. Crossfit helps me keep up with Col and the 3 kids.
Q: What is the biggest accomplishment you’ve had in the gym so far?
A: It took some time but I can complete pretty much every movement gymnastic and Olympic. Not well but I have them all in my bag.
Q: What is it that you like most about CrossFit OTG?
A: I love the comradery, the positive energy, and the competition. I am very thankful; I've met some incredible people and developed friendships through crossfit.

Q: What would you say to someone who is on the fence about trying OTG?
A: Have fun and don't be intimidated. It is a great supportive community. Take your time and set little goals.
