Lauren never shies away from hard work OR having fun!
Lauren has made an incredible transformation, and continues to get better. She’s crushing the gymnastics game and is quickly going from good to great at her barbell movements! Not only has she been fun to coach physically, but mentally we have watched her attitude, mindset, and positivity all get so much stronger. She committed to working out hard, eating well, and we are excited to watch her keep getting better!
Q: How does it feel to be the January OTG Member of the Month?
A: So honored!! Excited to be part of the OTG elite!
Q: How old are you?
A: 41
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I have a franchise that specializes in fire safety in commercial kitchens, called HOODZ.
Q: What was your athletic background before CrossFit?
A: I played tennis in HS and once in college got into going to the gym.
Q: How has training this way changed your life?
A: It has changed the way I see myself and my worldview. I never thought of myself as physically strong but I now do. Joe also doesn’t hesitate to ask me to help lift things now, which I appreciate! As far as my worldview, I feed off of the positivity that I get from the people at OTG. I did not grow up in a very positive household and constantly work on my happiness, patience, and positive outlook. OTG has really helped me there, because I see it all modeled constantly. I bring it home to how I interact with my son, as well. He’s amazing but requires a new level of patience.
Q: How long have you been CrossFitting?
A: January 13th will be my 1 year, 6 month mark. Woo hoo!
Q: What's your favorite cheat meal?

A: Bodyweight and running I am probably best at so those. I am enjoying learning about rowing too!

A: Overhead squats are difficult for me but I have gotten a lot better!
Q: If you could make up your own workout that fits your strengths, what would it be and what would you call it? (AMRAP? RDS for time? Movements?)
A: Something with bodyweight and running. I would call it “Lauren’s Jam.”
Q: What was one goal when you first started at OTG? Have you progressed toward that goal?
A: I wanted to get back into shape and lose weight after having a baby and yes I am very happy with my progress toward those goals!
